BD Pitch

User manual

Use this guide to create a lead list, review what came back, and decide when the project is finished. The same steps are the acceptance path: each action says what you should see.

Open the product at bd-opportunity-dashboard.vercel.app. Reviewed 10 October 2026. Updated 20 October 2026 against the deployed product. Screenshots are from the 10 October review and were kept. Where the text and a screenshot differ, follow the text.

1. Start here

BD Pitch turns a business request into a saved list of companies, people, or job postings. Write the request in the language you work in. English and Chinese are both supported, and the product does not limit the language. The AI reads the request as you wrote it and uses that analysis to search for the companies, people, or jobs you asked for.

A finished search is not a finished project. To Review means the system has stopped and the list is ready for a person. Completed happens only when you choose Mark completed.

1Open Projects
2New project
3Write the request
4Review the rows
5Mark completed
CheckYou can sign in, see Projects, and the left navigation shows Insights and Projects.

2. Find a project

Projects opens on Lead Discovery. Intelligence Stream is visible and disabled. That tab is not part of this workflow.

Projects list showing Lead Discovery, search, filter, status, and lead counts
The project list. Each row shows the status, the lead count, and the APN and Insight marks.
  1. Select Projects. You should see search, Filter, a time range, and New project.
  2. Search by project name or by the words in the monitoring request. Use Filter for Running, To Review, or Completed. Use the time menu for All time, Last 30 days, or Last 7 days. The list narrows. The saved projects do not change.
  3. Select a project name to open it.

How to read a row

What you seeWhat it means
Companies, People, or JobsThe kind of record in that project.
To ReviewThe run has finished. A person still needs to review it.
The numberHow many leads are saved.
The triangle markHow many leads already match an internal APN company or person. See APN and Insight.
The sparkle markHow many companies have a target or similar-company insight. See APN and Insight.
Names under the rowThe owner and the people who can see the project.

The status sentence under the title tells you what still needs attention. Examples you will actually see: an ambiguous company match, a missing APN connection, or a Find more that was stopped with the saved rows kept.

3. Create a project

Create lead discovery project dialog with Companies, Jobs, and People
New project. Choose the entity, write the request, then Start monitoring.
  1. Select New project. The dialog title is “Create lead discovery project.”
  2. Choose Companies, Jobs, or People. This choice decides the columns you get later.
  3. Write the monitoring request in Chinese, English, or another language. A useful request names the quantity, who you want, the place, the hard requirements, and anything you only want reported. The labels under the box suggest what to include. For companies they are Industry, Location, Company criteria, Hiring activity, and Key contacts. They change when you switch entity. The AI analyzes the text you entered.
  4. Select Start monitoring. The button stays inactive until the request has text. The product writes a project title from the request, and the monitoring scope. You can rename the title with the pencil. A title you type yourself is kept.
Say what must be true, and what you only want reported. “Find companies with an office in France” is a requirement. “Also report whether they are hiring” is a signal. A hiring signal does not remove a company from the list unless you make hiring a requirement.
CheckThe new project appears with the entity you chose. After you reload, the same project and its saved rows are still there.

4. Read the result

Open the project from the list. The breadcrumb is Projects / Lead Discovery. The title can be renamed with the pencil. The sentence under the title is the monitoring scope.

StatusWhat you do
RunningWait. The progress line shows what is still being collected. The table can still change.
To ReviewRead the rows and the status sentence. A warning can sit next to a usable list. That is still a finished run.
CompletedSomeone chose Mark completed. It stays completed until a new sourcing run starts. Reopen for review brings it back.
CheckRunning is only used while the result can still change. To Review appears when the search and its checks have stopped, including when a provider or APN step stopped and the reason is on screen. Completed does not appear by itself.

5. Work the list

The results page has 6 operations. They fall into two groups. The first four change what you see and leave the saved rows in place. The last two are how you work a row. APN and Insight are in the next section.

Company results table with search, columns, filter, search strategy, and outreach controls
The results toolbar holds Search, Columns, Filter, Search strategy, and Outreached. The flag in the first column opens Outreach.

The line above the table is the size of the saved result, such as “41 companies · 27 contacts.”

Search

The search box matches the text on the current rows. On a company project the placeholder is “Search company, product, location, or contact.” While a search is active, the count above the table changes from the full size, such as “41 companies,” to the matches, such as “1 of 41 companies.” Clear the box and the full saved list comes back.

Columns

Choose visible columns panel with Company fixed and the other fields checked
Columns. Company stays fixed. The other fields can be shown or hidden.
  1. Select Columns. The panel title is “Choose visible columns.”
  2. The primary column is locked: Company, Name, or Job Title, depending on the project.
  3. Check or uncheck the groups you need. On a company project those groups include Company data, People data, and Hiring signal. Active Hiring is shown on a new company project. Job postings is not, unless the request asked for job postings or you turn that column on. A project that already saved its columns keeps that choice, including a Job postings column that was already visible. Show all and Hide optional set the optional fields together.
  4. Select Apply columns. The table columns change. The saved values stay. Reload and the same columns are still visible.

Filter

Filter company opportunities panel with result confidence, presence, job postings, LinkedIn People, history, intelligence, and custom labels
Filter. The groups belong to the entity you opened. Apply filters narrows the rows on screen.

Select Filter. The help line says filters narrow the current result set and leave the project criteria unchanged. Select Apply filters when the groups are set.

EntityFilter groups you can use
CompaniesResult confidence, European presence, saved job postings, LinkedIn People, cross-project history, additional filters, internal intelligence, and custom user labels. The job-postings filter means the company has at least one saved posting. It does not mean those postings are current. A local-entity group appears when the project asked for a local legal entity.
PeopleLinkedIn profile, work email or phone, language, Director+ seniority, new sourced profile, and APN or duplicate profile, plus internal intelligence and custom user labels.
JobsCompany, active jobs, official source, language specified, posting date, plus internal intelligence and custom user labels.
CheckAfter Apply filters, the visible count changes and the saved project still has the same rows. Clear the filter and the full list returns.

Search strategy

Search strategy drawer showing the original request and read-only qualification criteria
Search strategy displays the request and the qualification rules. The request and the priority control cannot be edited in this release.
  1. Select Search strategy. The title is “Prompt and qualification criteria.”
  2. Read Original request. It is the monitoring request that was saved.
  3. Read Qualification criteria. Each rule has a priority such as Required, High priority, or Opportunity signal.
  4. Read Active enrichments. Refresh keeps using this saved strategy.
This release only displays the strategy. Changing the prompt criteria from this panel is a later prospecting feature. When that exists, a change will be versioned and launched as its own search. Until then, the request box is read-only and the priority control is disabled.

Outreached

Outreached shows companies you flagged and companies where a message was copied or generated. The control names outreached companies, outreached contacts, and generated messages. Those numbers are recorded use. They do not mean a message was sent. Select the control to show only those companies, and select it again to return to the full list. A flag is still there after reload.

Outreach

Outreach is the panel for one row. In the picture below, the red outline marks the flag in the first column. That outline is only in this guide. In the product, click the flag icon itself. Clicking it marks the row and opens the panel.

The panel has two parts and three features. Generate outreach is the first part, and it has three steps. Notes and Labels are the second part.

Full results page. A red outline marks the flag on Stream Data Centers, and the outreach panel is open beside the table.
The red outline is the flag in the first column. Click that flag to mark the row and open the outreach panel beside the table.

Generate outreach

The first part of the panel builds the message in three steps.

  1. Select Contact. Choose the person on this row, then choose a channel that the contact already has, such as email, LinkedIn, or phone.
  2. Candidate Pitch. This is where you will choose a candidate to pitch. That choice is not available in this release, because candidates are not linked here yet. The panel stays on “Context only — no candidate pitch,” and the message uses the company and the contact. Linking a candidate is planned for later.
  3. Personalized Outreach. After a contact and a channel are selected, this step shows a message for that contact. Personalize with AI is optional. It drafts a version from the saved context. The language control writes it in English or Chinese. Regenerate with AI rewrites a draft you already have. The copy icon copies the message that is on screen, including a template you did not personalize. A copy is remembered for that contact only after the copy succeeds. Copying does not mark the message as sent. Drafting stays in this panel. Sending the message is a separate action, and this guide does not cover sending.

Notes and Labels

The second part of the same panel is where you record your own follow-up.

CheckSearch, Filter, and Columns change the view. The saved rows remain. After you flag a row, Outreached includes it, and the flag is still there after reload. A label applied in the panel is still on the row after reload.

6. APN and Insight

APN and Insight run on the saved rows after the search. The two marks on the toolbar, and the same two marks on each project in the project list, are their counts.

Company toolbar with the APN triangle and the Insight sparkle
The triangle is APN. The sparkle is Insight. Select a mark to show only the rows that carry it.
APNInsight
What it checksWhether this company or person is already an accepted APN client on the saved project, so an existing relationship is recognized.Whether a saved company resembles companies from recent APN delivery.
Applies toCompanies and people.Companies. On a jobs project, the check uses the employer company. A people project has no insight count.
A matchAn existing APN company or person. It is included in the triangle count.A target or similar company. It is included in the sparkle count.
A zeroNo confirmed APN match. The status sentence says whether the check finished, the name was ambiguous, or APN is waiting for a connection. An ambiguous company stays in the list and is not counted as existing. No target or similar company on this project.
On the rowThe triangle marks a confirmed company or person. The sparkle on a company name opens that company’s delivery evidence.
On the toolbarSelect the triangle to show only confirmed APN matches. Select it again to show every row.Select the sparkle to show only insight matches. Select it again to show every row.
CheckOn a company project, the triangle count matches the confirmed APN companies and the sparkle count matches the companies with insight. Selecting either mark filters the table, and selecting it again shows every row.

7. Companies, People, and Jobs

The buttons on the results page are the same. The rows are not.

EntityOne row isLook for
CompaniesOne companyWebsite, location, product, contacts, Active Hiring, BD Signals when the request asked for them, and, when that column is on, saved job postings. APN and similar-company marks apply here. Open a company for its contact list. Recommended contacts are listed first. The list does not show a rank number. Show more opens the rest of the saved contacts on this screen and does not search again.
PeopleOne personCompany, title, location, profile, and contact fields. If APN is not connected, the status says so and the person row still stays in the list.
JobsOne open postingEmployer, title, location, date, source, and whether the posting is still open. The employer is kept separate from the page that published the job.
LinkedIn on a company row is not a separate LinkedIn login. Company LinkedIn, LinkedIn People, and LinkedIn Insight are fields on the row. People and Insight values come from saved snapshots. A public LinkedIn page can also be found during search. You do not connect a LinkedIn API to use the current project.
Active Hiring and Job postings are different. Active Hiring is the hiring check. Job postings are saved links. A cell that says “saved postings · stale”, and a line that says “Checked … · not current”, means the last check is too old to call the posting current. The number is how many were saved, not how many are open now. Refresh and Enrich do not reopen those links. A dead link can remain until a later check is run outside this manual.
Contacts on a company. The paper-plane icon opens outreach for that person. Unlock, when it is shown, looks up that person’s email or phone. It can use credits and can return no additional email or phone. Find more contacts, inside the company panel, looks for more people in the functions this project needs. It can use credits and still add fewer contacts than expected, including none you can reach. It is not the same button as Find more on the project toolbar.
CheckA company row can be opened to its evidence and contacts. A people row is one person. A jobs row is one posting, with the employer named separately from the source page.

8. Refresh, Find more, and Enrich

Use these when the saved list needs a change. Each one does a different job. Refresh rechecks rows you already have. Find more looks for additional rows. Enrich adds one new column.

Refresh

Refresh project data dialog with Smart Refresh selected
Smart Refresh is the recommended method. It rechecks missing, stale, or unverified fields and reuses data that was verified recently.

The refresh icon is at the top of the project, beside Project history. The dialog title is “Refresh project data.” It updates saved records. It does not look for new companies, people, or jobs, and it does not change workspace settings.

MethodWhat it rechecks
Smart RefreshMissing, stale, or unverified fields. Recently verified data is reused. This is the default.
Selected fieldsOnly the fields you tick. On a company project those include Website, Company LinkedIn, Core product, Industry, Location, Founded date, Company size, Contacts, Active Hiring, BD Signals, and Job postings. Ticking Job postings does not reopen saved links or change a “stale” or “not current” label.
Full RefreshEvery supported core field. This takes longer and can use more provider requests.
Refresh dialog with Selected fields chosen and the field checklist open
Selected fields opens the checklist. The button label becomes “Refresh selected fields.”
  1. Choose the method.
  2. Under Records, keep All saved records, or choose Current filtered results when a search or filter is already applied.
  3. The optional source, “Try LinkedIn People first when a Company LinkedIn is already known,” is off unless you turn it on. If that path has nothing to add, the refresh continues on the normal path.
  4. Start the refresh and wait until the button returns to the normal refresh icon. Reload the project. The rows stay. Flags, outreach, notes, filters, columns, and enrichment columns stay. A selected field can change. The other fields stay.

Find more

Find more is on the results toolbar, to the left of Enrich. It has no setup dialog. Selecting it starts a search for up to 10 more records of the same entity. While it is running, the same button stops it. If you stop it, the rows already saved stay, and the project status says the stop preserved them. On a company, Find more contacts is a separate action in the company panel. It searches for more saved contacts and can use credits without adding a person you can reach.

Enrich

Enrich data dialog with column name, data type, and AI instructions
Enrich adds one column. Company, People, and Job postings are the three column groups.
  1. Select the blue Enrich button. The dialog title is “Enrich data.”
  2. Choose Company, People, or Job postings. Suggested fields are listed on the left. LinkedIn People and LinkedIn Insight say when they are local validation and the API is not connected.
  3. Name the column, choose a data type (Text, Number, Options, Email, or URL), and write the AI instructions.
  4. Select Create column. The new column appears on the table. The saved rows stay the same.
If the message says no field changes were returned, open the row before you run it again. The field may already hold the value you expected, so the refresh had nothing new to write. Look at that field on the row, then decide whether to run it again.
CheckA selected refresh does not add rows and does not clear unrelated fields. Stopping Find more or Enrich leaves the saved values in place and shows that the action was stopped.

9. Market Insights

Market Insights is the shared market screen. It pulls insight signals from the BDP common data pool and shows them together: companies, funding, job postings, and people changes. A project’s own lead list stays in that project. These totals are market context, not the pass condition for a project.

Market Insights with search, range filters, signal totals, and a region distribution
Market Insights. The Range filters and the distribution switch are the market view. A project’s own rows stay in that project.

What the pool shows

SummaryWhat it counts
Total SignalsInsight signals in the current range.
CompaniesCompanies represented in those signals.
Funding EventsFunding signals in the pool.
Job PostingsJob-posting signals in the pool.
People ChangesPeople-change signals in the pool.

The chart under the totals is new market signals per week. Market Distribution can be switched among Location, Companies, and People. The location view lists the regions with the most activity and each region’s share.

How to narrow it

  1. Select Insights.
  2. Search by company, industry, signal, or account. The second box is the location, starting at Global Regions. Clear All resets the search.
  3. Use the Range chips: All signals, Client status, Industry, Location / Region, Funding Round, Work Type, Position Type, Signal Type, Source Channel, and Time Range.
  4. Switch Market Distribution among Location, Companies, and People. Further down, Market Characteristics lists top industries and top job functions.
CheckThe page opens, the search boxes and Range chips are usable, and the distribution switch changes the view. The pool totals are market context. They are not the pass condition for a project’s lead count.

10. Acceptance checklist

Run this on a project you are allowed to create or refresh. Write down the project name, entity, request, time, and what the status said. Do not send a real outreach message as part of the test.

StepDo thisPass when
1Open ProjectsSearch, Filter, time range, and New project are visible.
2Create one project. Write the request in English or Chinese. It saves with that entity. The AI analyzes the request you wrote.
3Reload itThe rows are still there.
4Watch the statusRunning while the result can still change. To Review when the search and its checks have stopped.
5Open one rowYou can see the record, a source, and the field you expected for that entity.
6Search, filter, hide a column, and open Search strategyOnly the view changes. The saved rows remain. Search strategy shows the request and the criteria, and both stay read-only.
7Flag and unflag one rowThe Outreached count updates, and the flag is still there after reload.
8Refresh one selected fieldThat field can change. Unrelated fields stay.
9Mark completed, then reopenCompleted happens only from that action. Reopen for review returns it to review.
10Read the APN triangle and the Insight sparkleThe triangle is confirmed APN companies or people. The sparkle is company insight. A zero is a count, and the status sentence says whether the check finished.
11Open InsightsThe market view and its Range filters render. Its pool totals are not the project pass condition.

Keep a copy of the status sentence, one representative row, and the before-and-after value for the refresh test.

11. If something looks wrong

What you seeWhat to do
New project or saving is disabled, and a storage alert is showingThe workspace cannot be saved right now. Do not start the run again until the alert is gone.
To Review, with a warningRead the warning and the rows. The run can still be usable.
Source unavailableThat field could not be verified. Leave the reason in place.
Connect or reconnect APNThe list is still there. The person or company match did not finish because the APN connection is missing.
Fewer companies than you asked forDuplicates and non-company pages can be removed and are not replaced. The status should not claim the full count was reached.
No recent hiring evidenceThe hiring check finished without an accepted posting. It is not a blank error.
